RChilli's Search & Match API stores structured resume or job data temporarily in a secure, indexed format to facilitate high-speed and accurate search and match operations. Here's a detailed breakdown of what data is stored in the index and how it is used:
What Data Is Stored in the Index?
When you use RChilli’s Search & Match API, the data indexed comes from structured resume or job documents (parsed via RChilli’s parser or provided directly in JSON). The following key elements are typically indexed:
-
Skills: Normalized using RChilli’s Taxonomy 3.0, including aliases and comparable terms.
-
Job Titles: Standardized for better matchability.
-
Experience: Captured in months, derived from start and end dates of each job segment.
-
Education: Degree names, institutions, and levels are indexed for match relevance.
-
Locations: Includes city, state, country to support location-based searches.
-
Domains/Industries: Helps in matching candidates to relevant industry roles.
-
Companies: Extracted from candidate histories or job descriptions for organizational matching.
-
Languages, Tools, Certifications: If available, these enrich the indexed profile.
This structured data is then made searchable using RChilli’s Search & Match Engine 3.0, which applies advanced AI, taxonomies, and custom scoring mechanisms.
Why Is Data Indexed?
Indexing enables features like:
-
Resume to Jobs / Job to Resumes matching
-
Candidate-to-candidate or Job-to-job similarity comparison
-
Faceted filtering (e.g., by experience range, location, skills)
-
Scoring and ranking of results based on weighted criteria
Without indexing, parsed data cannot be searched or matched efficiently. Hence, parsing and indexing are often used together (via the ParseAndIndex API).
Security and Temporary Storage
-
RChilli does not permanently store resume or JD data.
-
Indexed data is held temporarily in secure environments (region-specific, such as US data centers).
-
Users can delete all indexed documents at any time using the
/deleteAllDocumentsAPI endpoint.
