While a PDF resume may appear clear and well-formatted to the human eye, it can sometimes lead to unexpected parsing results. This is because the RChilli parser converts PDF files into plain text before extracting information. The accuracy of the parsed data depends entirely on how the content is structured within the document.
Elements like tables, columns, or non-standard formatting may confuse the parser, resulting in misaligned or incomplete data extraction. Even though such layouts look organized visually, they may not translate well into plain text, causing parsing inconsistencies.
To verify this, you can copy the content from your PDF and paste it into Notepad—this shows you how the parser interprets the document in raw text form.
Additionally, RChilli provides a field called detailresume
, which displays the actual text that was extracted from the document. Reviewing this field can help you understand how the resume content was converted and identify formatting issues.
