RChilli Salesforce - What is the relation between the Primary object & the object under the related tab?

In Salesforce, the relationship between the Primary Object and the Related Tab Object follows a Parent-Child relationship model. Here's a breakdown of how this works:

Understanding the Parent-Child Relationship

1. Primary Object (Parent Object):

   • The Primary Object is the main object selected in the Salesforce integration setup. This object serves as the parent in the parent-child relationship.

   • In this example, if you choose Contact as the Primary Object, Contact becomes the parent object. All other related data linked to this object will appear in related tabs.

2. Related Tab Object (Child Object):

   • The Related Tab Object is a child object that contains related data connected to the Primary Object.

   • In Salesforce, Related Tab Objects are child objects of the Primary Object. You can select these child objects in the related tab setup.

How It Works in RChilli Salesforce Integration

• Primary Object: The object you choose in Salesforce, such as Contact, is the Parent Object. In the Select an Object list, you will select the Primary Object (e.g., Contact). This is the core object, and data is gathered and structured based on this object.

• Related Tab Object: The list to select an object for the related tab only includes child objects of the Primary Object. For example, under the Contact object, you may see related child objects such as Job Applications, Skills, Experience, etc. These child objects will be displayed under the Related Tab for the Primary Object, allowing for organized viewing of associated data.

Example:

Let’s say we select Contact as the Primary Object.

• Primary Object (Parent): Contact

  • Holds the core data for the individual, such as their name, email, and other contact information.

• Related Tab Objects (Children):

  • Job Applications: The Job Application object is linked to the Contact object, representing job applications associated with that individual.

  • Skills: The Skills object might contain the parsed skills data related to the Contact (e.g., skills extracted from a resume).

  • Experience: The Experience object holds data about the work history related to that specific Contact.

In this scenario, Contact is the Parent Object, and Job Applications, Skills, and Experience are Child Objects that will be displayed under the related tabs of the Contact object.
